Kuwait: Kuwait’s crude oil exports to Japan fell by 25.4% in February compared to the same period last year. Exports reached 3.82 million barrels, or 136,000 barrels per day, marking the 17th consecutive monthly decline. The figures were released in official Japanese government data on Tuesday.
According to a preliminary report by Japan’s Natural Resources and Energy Agency, Kuwait supplied 5.7% of Japan’s total crude oil imports in February. This was down from 7.2% in the same month last year. Kuwait remains Japan’s third largest oil supplier.
As reported by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Japan’s total crude oil imports declined by 5.1% year-on-year in February. Imports averaged 2.4 million barrels per day, reflecting the first drop in two months.
The data also showed that the Middle East accounted for 97.3% of Japan’s oil needs, an increase of 0.6% compared to the previous year.
