TENNIS – THE pairing of Ellen Largo and Marila Cabangonay won the advanced category title in the first Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) Ramadan Women’s Doubles Championship, held at the BTF courts in Isa Town.
The event was organised by the BTF women’s committee and it was held under the patronage of MP Eman Showaiter.
Largo and Cabangonay secured their crown after defeating the duo of Abby Pelagio and Lea Dorote 6-4, 6-3 in their division final.
Also emerging triumphant were Eman Farah and Esor Rosemarie.
They took first place in the beginners’ class after scoring the highest number of points at the end of their competition.
Farah and Rosemarie were followed by the tandem of Madina Malallah and Sanaa Ashour.
At the conclusion of the tournament, the winners received their respective medals and cash prizes in an awards ceremony attended by BTF board members Mohammed Salman, Adnan Kamal, Jameela Al Nashaba, and Nayla Almeer.
Asma Ali from Nuun Official watches, one of the tournament’s sponsors, was also on hand.
The event featured more than 34 women’s players from various countries including Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Morocco, Russia, the Philippines, Spain, and Bahrain.
