MOTORSPORT – BAHRAIN International Circuit (BIC) hosts tomorrow the seventh and final round of National Race Day this 2024-25 season.
The meeting will feature two of the kingdom’s leading circuit racing series, including the Bahrain Touring Car Challenge (BTCC) and the Bahrain Motorcycle Championship (BMC).
The event is being organised by BIC in co-operation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Circuit Racing Commission, and the Bahrain Motorcycle Commission.
The on-track action is scheduled to get underway at 4pm and end close to 9pm under BIC’s bright floodlights.
All those wishing to attend are invited to enjoy the exciting racing. Tickets cost BD2 for adults and BD1 for children. Race-goers will get to watch from BIC’s Beyon Grandstand, offering fantastic views of the 2.554-kilometre Inner Track. Isa Ebrahim claimed a fantastic double in the sixth and penultimate round of the BTCC, held last month, and will be looking to make a strong finish to this campaign in his Honda Civic contender. Ebrahim will be going up against Moaaz Elzahrawi, Hamad Khamis, Ali Baqer, and Andreas Buelow, all of whom will also be competing in Honda Civics, along with the Radio Bahrain entrant in a Honda Integra.
BTCC practice will get the day’s programme underway at 4pm, to be followed by qualifying at 5.10pm. The first of two races is then scheduled to flag off at 6.34pm, followed by the season’s final race at 8.09pm.
In the BMC, Mohamad Alzaidan took the 600cc win in the last round, while Saud Al Toura triumphed in the 1,000cc category. Both competitors are returning for this Friday’s events.
Alzaidan will be competing in his Kawasaki ZX6. The other 600cc participants include Shaikh Khalid Al Khalifa and Mohamed Al Sadiq in Triumph Daytonas, Ali Bu Sahri and Abdulrahman Ahmed in Honda CBR600RRs, Faisal Bader in a Honda CBR600, Achraf Hamoud in a Suzuki GSXR600, and the trio of Nasser Al Khadra, Saif Al Buainain, and Hamed Al Tayeb in Yamaha R6 bikes.
Al Toura will be in his BMW S 1000 RRs, as will Abdulrahman Al Tayeb. Others competing in the 1,000cc class are Fahad Algosaibi in his BMW1000RR, Hassan Al Awadhi and Mujahed Alkhashram in Yamaha R1s, Nawaf Al Shuaibi in a Honda CPR 100 RR, Bander Bahlul in a BMW 10004R, Fahed Al Hashash in a Suzuki GSXR, Abdulaziz Alkhazan in a KTM Superduke, Bradley Stewart in a Ducati 848 Evo, and Marta Di Lauro in a Ducati 899.
The BMC will hold its practice session at 4.35pm, while qualifying will be from 5.45pm. The round’s single race will then be held from 7.19pm.
The podium ceremony is scheduled for an 8.50pm start.
