HORSERACING – RASHID Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) is all set for a season-ending double-header today and tomorrow at its brilliantly lit turf track in Sakhir.
The 2024-25 national horseracing season is set for a thrilling finale, with the 29th and 30th meetings of this campaign taking place on back-to-back nights.
Both evenings are set to feature eight-race cards, with action starting from 5.30pm both days.
Tonight, headlining the action will be the Future Stars Champions Cup and the SGB Future Stars Sprint Cup. Both races offer BD8,000 in prize money with locally bred horses in the fray. The Future Stars Champions Cup will be contested over 1,600 metres, while the SGB Future Stars Sprint Cup will be over 1,000m.
Today’s events will also feature the REHC Cup, the Bahrain Turf Club Cup, the BAS Cup, and the Al Rouda Cup.
Meanwhile, tomorrow’s race card will be headlined by the Owner’s Cup, sponsored by Bapco Energies, which is set to carry BD12,000 in winnings. The event for local breeds is set to be run over 2,000m.
Also set to be up for the taking are the Bahrain Golf Cup, sponsored by Bapco Energies, and the Champions Sprint, sponsored by Bapco Energies – both of which are offering BD10,000 in prize money.
Also tomorrow, the Bapco Energies Mile Cup and the Bapco Energies Cup will both feature BD5,000 in winnings, the Bapco Energies Prestige Cup and the Bapco Energies Victory Sprint BD4,000 apiece, and the Bapco Energies Arabian Cup BD1,500.
Entry is free to all fans in the two meetings tonight and tomorrow.
