Riyadh: International Saudi athlete Yousef Ahmed Masrahi lost seven members of his family in a horrific road accident.
Saudi Athletics Federation President Prince Nawaf bin Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Saud sent a cable of condolences to the bereaved sportsman. He also dispatched federation member Ali Maseekh to offer condolences to the track and field champion.
The deceased include Abdulla Ahmed Masrahi, Mohammed Mosleeh Masrahi, Yahya Mosleeh Masrahi, Dalal Abdulla Masrahi, Shahd Abdulla Masrahi, Amani Abdulla Masrahi and Aisha Awami Masrahi.
Yousef Ahmed Masrahi, who was born on 31 December 1987 in Najran, is a track and field athlete.
He specialises in the 400 metres sprint. His personal best time for the event is 43.93 seconds, set in Beijing at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics. He was the gold medallist in the event at the Asian Athletics Championships in 2011.
