FOOTBALL – A titanic match-up between leaders Muharraq and two-time defending champions Al Khaldiya headlines the round 16 schedule, taking place tonight and tomorrow in the 2024-25 Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League.
Muharraq currently top the table with 38 points – six ahead of Khaldiya after 15 games played.
The two title favourites are set to face off tomorrow at Khalifa Sports City Stadium in a thrilling affair, scheduled for a 7.20pm kick-off.
Muharraq will have an opportunity to take a stranglehold on the championship fight with a victory, while Khaldiya, who were stunned in their previous outing against then-cellar dwellers East Riffa, will be determined to secure the full three points and narrow the gap to first place on the standings.
The clash is part of a three-game schedule tomorrow night.
In other games, East Riffa will be looking for back-to-back victories for the first time all season when they face Sitra at Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium in Arad, while Al Ahli will face bottom club Manama at the National Stadium in Riffa. Both fixtures are also scheduled to begin at 7.20pm.
Three matches are also to be played this evening. Riffa and A’ali clash at the National Stadium, Al Shabab take on Al Najma at Khalifa Sports City Stadium, and Al Malkiya lock horns with Bahrain Club at Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium.
All three fixtures are slated for 7.20pm kick-offs.
