A leading supermarket in the kingdom is proud to celebrate its 56th anniversary today.
Since its establishment in 1965, Al Jazira Supermarket been a part of Bahrain’s legacy, housing more than 35,000 products to meet its customers’ every need.
“Over the 56 years that we have been in Bahrain’s retail industry, we believe that our dedication in what we do and understanding our customers’ satisfaction has contributed significantly to deliver excellent customer experience,” Al Jazira Group chairman Abdul Hussein Khalil Dawani said.
Al Jazira Supermarket is considered one of the best in Bahrain for its fresh produce and speciality import items in bakeries, cookies, juices and groceries from all over the world, according to group general manager Ujjal Kumar Mukherjee.
“On this special occasion, we are offering our customers daily discounts of 56 per cent on select products each day for a period of one month, in addition to a grand raffle offering BD10,000 in gifts and awards.”
The supermarket, which has more than 55 international brands under its umbrella, includes Heinz, McVitie’s, Bahlsen, Co-Ro, Pinar, Mazola, Americana, Emborg, Icelandic Water, Fonterra, Nectaflor, Tilda, Unilever, Nestle, Loreal and many more, which are distributed all over the kingdom.
Its product range covers a wide variety of essentials including fresh produce, bakeries, hot food, dry groceries, chips and biscuits, chocolates, butcheries, dailies (cheese, olives), juices and drinks, tea and coffee, cosmetics, organic – vegan and healthy foods, diabetic food and biscuits, dairy, sauces and condiments, household accessories, detergents and cleaning products.

The supermarket, which is well-known for its various offerings that are not widely found in the kingdom, imports from New Zealand, Australia, the US, the UK, the Netherlands, Thailand, the Philippines, India, Switzerland, Canada, Colombia and many others.
With more than 700 employees working across its multiple locations in the kingdom, the well-known brand attributes its triumphs to its world-class products and personalised customer service.
Speaking about what lies ahead, Mr Dawani said he believed ‘the future of retail in Bahrain will be about building an ecosystem of capabilities and partnerships to deliver the best consumer experience’.
Al Jazira’s plans involve further expansions ‘to reach more customers through various store formats, loyalty programmes, mobile apps, extensive online sales, greater home delivery capabilities and many more’, Mr Mukherjee revealed.
“We are also expanding more into catering and food service, hot food and bakery, as well as warehouse capacity and technology upgradation,” he added.
Al Jazira Supermarket’s 13 locations can be found in Zinj, Adliya, Juffair, Budaiya, Bu Quwah, Hamala, Jasra, Janabiya, Riffa, Manama, Golden Sands Apartments, Karannah and Sehla, while three more stores are in their final stages of opening at Seef Mall, Tala Island and Hoora.
