Dubai: The Dubai Court of First Instance heard a case where a 31-year-old Pakistani national is facing trial for raping a housemaid while the sponsor family was not at home.
However, the man denied the accusation claiming it was consensual.
The accused reportedly took advantage of the employer’s absence at home and forced himself on the 30-year-old Bangladeshi housemaid.
According to the housemaid, the accused was performing his duty at the villa when only she was at home.
When he finished his and was about to leave, he forced himself on to the housemaid.
"I was surprised by him hugging me and covering my mouth. He quickly threw me on the bed and took off my clothes."
The maid claimed during the investigation that the worker raped her, reported Khaleej Times.
The matter was reported to police when the employer returned home and was told about the incident.
"I came home at around 7pm and found the maid crying. She told me she was raped but she had three different versions of what happened," the 31-year-old Emirati housewife said.
The Emirati woman told police there was no surveillance camera in the house.
The forensic doctor, who examined the maid, however confirmed she was raped.
It was not revealed whether it was consensual or by force.
The court heard the arguments and adjourned the hearing until June 16.
