They were specially made for the Russian imperial family from 1885 to 1916.

Hen Egg- 1885
This is the first imperial egg created, the Hen egg.
It is crafted from gold, its opaque white enamelled ‘shell’ can be opened to unveil its first surprise, a matt yellow gold yolk.
The yolk can be opened too, to reveal a multi-coloured gold hen.
