Abu Dhabi: A young expatriate and his girlfriend have been sentenced to one month in prison and deportation from the UAE on serving their jail term.
The Court of First Instance in the Emirate of Ajman convicted them of living together for two weeks in a car and a flat and having sex outside the legal bonds, reported Arabic daily Emarat Al Youm.
The father reported to police after his teenaged daughter went missing. The police initiated inquiry and arrested the girl with her boyfriend.
The 18-year-old daughter claimed that she ran away from her family's house to live with her boyfriend as her father was planning to force her into marrying another man whom she did not like.
The young expatriate first received the girl at to his house 1 am before escaping in his uncle's car to Sharjah where they spent the whole day in a vehicle.
The couple reportedly spent three days in a car in Manama.
The couple, then, lodged a case before the Court of Appeal in the Emirate of Ajman.
