Cairo: Egyptian actor Ezzat Abu Auf passed today morning aged 70 after a long battle with disease.
Actors' Union chairman Ashraf Zaki said that Abu Auf had died this morning at a hospital at the neighbourhood of Al Mouhandisin in Cairo.
The actor who was suffering from liver disease, cardiac problems and hyper pressure was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
Abu Auf appeared in one of the advertisements broadcast during the holy month. His last dramatic work was a role in the screenplay “God Father part II” for director Tamer Hamza, written by Hany Sarhan.
The series was starring Sawsan Badr, Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Mido Adel, among other actors.
Born in 1948, Ezzat Ahmed Shafiq, born in 1948, graduated with a degree in medicine.
He then joined hands with his sisters to found a band in the early 1980s known as The Four M. Together, they performed roles in several theatrical performances.
His sister, Maha, later pursued an acting career disbanding The Four M. This caused Abu Auf to focus on television and cinema projects.
He featured in dozens of movies and TV serials, including Ice Cream in Gleam, Leila Sakhina, Bakhit and Adeela, Om Kulthum, Land of Fear, L'autre, A Girl's , Ya ward meen yeshtereek, Abbas al abiad fi al yawm al aswad, Sib wana sib The Embassy in the Building, Halim, The Island and Hawanem Garden City.
