A Kuwaiti doctor was sentenced to five years in prison and ordered to pay KD 345,000 (BD 424,000) after he managed to embezzle public funds, collecting five years' worth of salaries without working a single day.
The doctor resided outside Kuwait for the entire period but received his full salary by allegedly colluding with another employee within the Kuwaiti Health Ministry.
During this time, he collected a total of KD 115,00 (BD 141,390).
