HORSERACING – THE second round of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup 2025 was held at the Military Sports Federation arena at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) in Al Raffa, Sakhir, yesterday.
The event was held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) in co-operation with the Emirates Arabian Horse Society.
The competition featured strong performances across several categories. In the yearling fillies category (one-year-old), Najdiyat Al Shihab, owned by Fadel Al Jamri, secured first place. Alia Al Haddar, owned by Mustafa Abdulrahman Rajab, took second place, followed by IMS Jawaher, owned by Al Mudahahka Stud.
In the junior fillies section, TF Hala, owned by Talal Fawzi Kanoo Stud, claimed first place. Lujain AJ, owned by Abdullah Nasser Al Nuaimi, came second, and HK Dina, owned by Mohammed Al Hayki, was placed third.
In the mares category, BFS Shamoukh, owned by Hamad Mohammed Boufarsan, achieved first place. AR Kayan, owned by Kayan Hassan Rajab, was declared second, and Lamar AJ, owned by Abdullah Al Nuaimi, emerged third.
The Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup comprises 10 rounds held across various continents to support breeders and owners of Arabian horses worldwide.
Breef president Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa commended the continued support of Shaikh Nasser in the development of Bahrain’s equestrian sector.
He also commended the UAE’s efforts in promoting equestrian sports in the region, particularly the support of Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and chairman of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society.
