Warner Bros. have announced a re-release of 'A Minecraft Movie' titled 'A Minecraft Movie: Block Party Edition!' where it invites fans of the film to come back and be as chaotic as one can be, following up on the trend of moviegoers getting rowdy and throwing popcorn right after the now popular line "Chicken Jockey!".
Exact details about the new edition and how it's different are yet to be revealed, but Warner Bros. emphasised that it will encourage the audience to sing-along to the songs and meme-along with the film.
“Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures invite fans back to the theatre to experience A Minecraft Movie together in a whole new way! You know the moments. You know the lines. You love the songs! Now it’s time to get loose, laugh out loud and belt out those lyrics like a true diamond-tier fan”, read the announcement.
The trend of getting rowdy in the theatre has been controversial due to the audience leaving the theatre in shambles and the ushers having to clean up the mess. Many theatres across the US and worldwide had to issue warnings and call local police in some cases.
Some theatres had designated shifts assigned to ushers to handle that moment in the film specifically. Viral videos showed some fans sneaking in actual live chickens to the theatre.
The film begins screening in North America on May 2 with international screenings in select theatres.
