WRESTLING – Bahrain Olympic Committee (BIC) secretary general Faris Al Kooheji welcomed International Olympic Committee executive board member and United World Wrestling (UWW) president Nenad Lalovic.
Their meeting came during Lalovic’s official visit to the kingdom.
Al Kooheji expressed his warm welcome to the Serbian and praised the efforts exerted by UWW in promoting and developing the sport.
Lalovic relayed his gratitude and appreciation to the BOC for the warm hospitality and reception, and highlighted the remarkable development of Bahraini wrestling, especially after achieving the kingdom’s first-ever Olympic gold medal in the sport at the Paris 2024 Games.
Al Kooheji presented Lalovic with a token of appreciation at the end of their meeting, which was also attended by BOC executive director Ahmed Abdulghaffar and BOC sports project management director Lounes Madene.
Prior to that, Lalovic visited a training session of Bahrain’s youth wrestling national teams and spoke with the aspiring athletes.
