The Fiba 3x3 World Tour is the premier street basketball series, held under the banner of the International Basketball Federation (Fiba). It will make 15 stops worldwide this year, with the series finale set to be held in the kingdom this November.
Riffa are Bahrain’s squad competing in the Fiba 3x3 World Tour, which features the best streetball basketball teams from various countries, each representing cities.
Riffa are set to compete this season with a team comprising Dennis Donkor, Jonas Foerts, Vic Van Oosterwyck, Caspar Augustijnen, and Thibaut Vervoort, with Vervoort sitting out the Utsunomiya contest.
In the preliminary round, Riffa are in Pool B alongside Toulouse of France and London from the US. There will also be 20 Challenger tournaments held throughout the season.
This year will mark the first time ever that the kingdom will be staging the curtain-closer, in which this year’s Fiba 3x3 World Tour champions will be crowned. The past two editions of the event in Bahrain were the Manama Masters in 2023 and last year. On both occasions, the competitions were held at a specially built venue at Bahrain Financial Harbour, offering a stunning backdrop to the exciting basketball action, which also included a women’s tournament, a slam dunk contest, and a three-point shootout.
