Muscat - The 7th Oman International Food Safety and Food Quality Conference and Exhibition concluded today, with emphasis on the importance of raising awareness to discover food fraud and to use artificial intelligence (AI) in related fields of research, development and innovation.
Scholarly recommendations issued at the conclusion of the three-day event stressed the need to build capacities, enhance research cooperation and develop action to improve food safety and quality.
The conference, held at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in Muscat Governorate, was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in cooperation with government departments and private sector establishments.
The conference also underlined the importance of building capacities in the field of food risk assessment and encouraging regulatory bodies to use relevant criteria as a basis of decision-making, in cooperation with the Arab Section of the International Organization.
