A video has gone viral after a shocking cabin collapse occurred mid-air on a Delta flight from Atlanta to Chicago.
The incident was captured by one of the passengers on board, whose video shows stunned travellers desperately holding a portion of the ceiling in place, until flight attendants were able to secure it using duct tape.
Fortunately, no incidents were reported, but outrage has sparked online regarding Delta’s safety protocols and minimal compensations.
The incident occurred on April 14, but recently came into light after Lucas Michael Payne, a content creator shared a video of the cabin chaos on his TikTok account. Captioning it with, ‘My homie was on a Delta flight and the ceiling collapsed’. The post gained more than 195,000 views.
Comments flooded the post, with one person saying, “Imagine if this happened during turbulence,” whilst another added, “I was on this flight! Delta only gave me a hundred dollar credit.”
A spokesperson for the Delta Airlines thanked customers for their “patience and co-operation,” and stated that the panel was “later affixed into place.”
The flight was delayed by nearly two hours as passengers were transferred to another aircraft bound for Chicago.
