MOTORSPORT – The Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025 will feature plenty of exciting action throughout the race weekend, taking place from April 11 to 13 in Sakhir.
Aside from F1, there will be plenty of non-stop racing from the three international support series, namely the FIA Formula 2 Championship, the FIA Formula 3 Championship, and the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East (PCCME).
Both F2 and F3 are the chief feeder series to F1, featuring the sport’s future stars.
F2 is the last rung on the ladder to F1, with many of the championship’s graduates starring in the pinnacle of motorsport today, including Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri of world champions McLaren, Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, and George Russell of Mercedes, to name only a few.
F3 is the official third rung of the ‘Road to Formula 1’ ladder. It was launched in 2019 in co-ordination with the former GP3 Series Organisation, combining GP3 and European F3 to create a defined entry point for young and ambitious drivers to join the F1 circus. F2 will be staging the second of 14 rounds of its 2025 season in Bahrain, while F3 will be staging the second of 10 rounds. Both will follow their season-openers in Australia.
Meanwhile, after holding its opening meeting at BIC in November of last year in support of the FIA WEC 8 Hours of Bahrain, powered by Bapco Energies, the PCCME returns for its fifth and penultimate meeting of the 2024-25 championship.
Launched in 2009, the PCCME is well-established as the proven path for regional talents to accelerate their careers onto the biggest stages of racing, through intense competition. Over the years, the series has gained recognition as one of the most professional and successful series in the Middle East. It was upgraded to the PCCME in 2023 and is therefore one of the leading Carrera Cup championships in the world.
