SHOWJUMPING – HUSSAIN Dadallah clinched victory in the grand prix of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation’s (Breef) fifth showjumping championship.
The Ministry of Interior rider, competing with his horse Verdi, took first place after completing his competition, which featured barriers 140cm to 145 cm in height with a speed of 350 m/min, in 55.43 seconds, flawlessly clearing both rounds.
He was the only rider to finish without penalties, earning him the grand prix title.
Other Ministry of Interior participants dominated the top ranks, with Maayouf Al Rumaihi finishing second on Ghayath (48.48 seconds, four faults), and Dadallah also securing third place riding Al Fateh (49.39 seconds, four faults).
In the points-based Joker barrier competition (barriers 130 cm), Dadallah won first place with Al Fateh (40.51 seconds, 44 points).
A number of other contests in the junior categories were also held.
At the end of the meeting, Breef showjumping committee member Huda Janahi presented the winners their respective trophies and awards.
She praised the advanced level of competition amongst the riders in the event and stressed that their performances confirmed their readiness to compete in future international championships.
