HORSERACING – Panning For Gold, owned by Al Mohamediya Racing, won the eighth race in the 11th event of the season at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) yesterday.
The winner, trained by Fawzi Nass and ridden by Hector Crouch, finished ahead of Miss Yvonne, also of Al Mohamediya Racing, to bag the Horse Welfare Authority Cup. Endifaa, owned by Salman Al Alawi, claimed the third position.
The races were attended by Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Supreme Council for Environment vice president and REHC deputy chairman Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
The seventh race of the day, for the Horse Welfare Authority Cup, was won by Fighter Pilot, of Esnaad Racing, edging past second-placed Vanguard Star, of Al Afoo Racing, and third-placed Inveigle, owned by Sayed Jawad Marzooq.
Notions, of Victorious, emerged as the winner of the sixth race to claim the Al Hawaj Cup. Mission Boy, owned by Ali Jaafar Darwish, was second while Follow Suit, of Al Remah Stable, was third.
Winforglory, of Al Mohamediya Racing, clinched the AHL Alkhayl Cup after winning the fifth race of the day. Battyeford Boy, owned by Abdulla AlGaoud, claimed the second position while Be Lucky My Son, of Bin Isaan Racing, finished third.
The Parent, of Al Adiyat Racing, won the fourth race and bagged the Al Ayam Publishing Est Cup. In second and third places were Al Mohamediya Racing’s Royal Scimitar and Returnofthemac.
Galatia, owned by Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, won the third race, for the Ascon Cup, racing past Echo Through Time, of Al Adiyat Racing. December, of Al Mohamediya Racing, took the third spot.
Aquila, owned by Abdulla Fawzi Nass, claimed the Al Hawaj Cup for the winner of the second race. Pisces, owned by Abdulla Fawzi Nass, and Tharb, owned by Abdulla Sami Nass, finished second and third respectively.
The opening race of the day was won by Al Ma’anagy 1846, of Al Khaldiya. In second place was Tawaisan 1844, of Al Riffa, while Al Hamdany 1810, of Victorious took the third position.
