Oman has announced a jail term of up to one year and OMR300 (BD293) fine for men who dress up as women.
The new Omani Penal Code stipulates that the individual will be punished with imprisonment for a period of no less than a month and not more than a year, along with a fine of no less than OMR100 (Bd98) and not more than OMR300 (BD293), or one of these two penalties, whoever appears in public with the appearance of women in his dress or appearance, a lawyer told Times of Oman.
He explained that the new ruling explicitly clarifies the existence of a penalty for this act.
