The first and only time Swedish star Andreas Gustafsson Berg entered the BRAVE CF cage, he imprinted an everlasting memory in the minds of BRAVE Nations fans with a blistering TKO win over Serbia’s Miro Jurkovic at BRAVE CF 39. The nature of the fight was so spectacular that it earned the 2020 BRAVE CF ‘Fight of the Year’ award. This month, ‘Bane’ will make his return to the BRAVE CF arena, where he will seek more glory against number-one ranked super lightweight, Joilton ‘Peregrino’ Lutterbach, in a super welterweight co-main event at BRAVE CF 70 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on April 23.
A natural middleweight, Gustafsson Berg is riding a two-fight win streak, with his last win coming against the Czech Republic’s David Hosek via a first-round KO in February. It was his seventh stoppage in eight professional wins, with Gustafsson Berg only ever tasting defeat twice in both the amateur and professional rankings.
With 18 overall career wins, Gustafsson Berg is one of the only athletes to secure an amateur victory over England’s Christian Leroy Duncan, when they met at the IMMAF World Championships in 2018. The Swede has since successfully moved on and has now zoomed in on another superstar in the six-promotion multi-division MMA champion and a two-promotion K-1 champion, Lutterbach, who is virtually one fight away from a BRAVE CF title fight.
A win over the Brazilian could not only shake things up on the BRAVE CF roster but also open up the record books once again as ‘Peregrino’ is riding an eight-fight combat sports win streak with two devastating first-round finishes over Marcel Grabinski and Mihail Cotruta.
While Lutterbach’s impressive run has earned him a shot at super lightweight champion Eldar Eldarov, for now, he will have to deal with the power and fight IQ of Gustafsson Berg, who looks to make history once again when he makes his much-anticipated BRAVE CF return in what could be another ‘Fight of the Year’ contender.
BRAVE CF 70 will be co-promoted with leading regional organisation WFC and 12 nations will be represented by 16 world-class athletes when BRAVE CF touches down in Ljubljana for BRAVE CF’s 20th event in Europe since its inception in 2016.
