THE Interior Ministry’s Ali Isa produced a flawless performance en route to winning the grand prize of the third round of the Breef (Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation) Showjumping Championships.
The winner clocked 41.28 seconds, leaving second place for his teammate Hussain Mohammed Dadallah, whose time was 47.98s. In third place came Mahmood Abdulqader (40.17s), who was penalised for committing four faults.
The top three in the event, which included 130/140cm hurdles, were honoured by Huda Janahi, owner of Horse Pride Company.
In the third competition for amateur showjumpers, which included 100/110cm hurdles, Isa’s hot form paved the way for him to win after completing it in 30.31s. Fadel Al Haddad came second in 31.09s and Mahmood Al Kooheji was third in 35.97s.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Saif of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) earned a narrow win in the fourth competition (110/120cm hurdles) for level 2 senior athletes, clocking 44.13s.
Veteran showjumper Sami Ghazwan showcased a masterclass performance in the fifth competition (120/130cm hurdles) to top the podium after posting a time of 42.07s.
