His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Royal Endurance Team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has written another chapter in the history of Bahrain by winning the title of the FEI World Endurance Championship for eight-year-old horses in Spain, outclassing 57 elite riders representing 20 countries in the 120km race.
Shaikh Nasser clocked 6 hours, 20 minutes and 10 seconds on his way to victory.
The race was followed by the King and this played a key role in spurring Shaikh Nasser to multiply his efforts en route to winning the race. The event featured strong competition among riders from Uruguay, UAE and Spain in addition to many other countries, and Shaikh Nasser was congratulated immediately by His Majesty upon crossing the finish line.
On his victory Shaikh Nasser said that this accomplishment is the fruit of His Majesty’s backing and follow-up to equestrian sport in the kingdom.
He explained that equine sports in the kingdom has proven its ability and capability which has allowed Bahrain to achieve notable successes globally.
Moreover, Shaikh Nasser praised the backing and support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the Royal Endurance Team’s solid performances in international championships.
