William Ellsworth Robinson (Chung Ling Soo)
American magician William Robinson used his stage name Chung Ling Soo to portray himself as a Chinese illusionist who performed the famous bullet catch trick.
It is one of the most dangerous tricks in which the magicians assistant shoots (or seems like), a loaded gun and the magician catches the bullet with his hand or mouth.
Sadly, during one of these performances Robinson died. He had performed this trick so many times, but on this night real bullet was used and he was killed.
People realised Robinson wasn't Chinese when he said "Oh my God. Something's happened. Lower the curtain."
