Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has temporarily suspended the travelling of citizens and residents to 9 countries over fears of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
An official from the Interior Ministry issued a statement saying that the preventive measure applies to the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, South Korea, Egypt, Italy and Iraq.
The Saudi authorities had already halted land entry and exit with Bahrain, the UAE and Kuwait through the cross-border points.
Under the same measure, Saudi Arabia has also suspended arrivals from these above-mentioned countries and halted the entry of those who were in these countries within 14 days from arriving into Saudi Arabia.
Flights and maritime trips between Saudi Arabia and these countries have also been halted, except evacuation and cargo flights. The Ministry of Interior and Health will coordinate in dealing with humanitarian and special cases.
