His Majesty King Hamad issued Decree (28) of 2025 amending certain provisions of Decree (6) of 1985 regarding the organisation of the Sunni and Jaffari Endowments Council and their administration, based on a proposal by the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister and following the approval of the Cabinet.
According to the decree, Article 8 of Decree (6) of 1985 shall be replaced with: “Each of the two general endowments directorates shall be headed by a Director General who is not a member of either council, and shall be appointed by Royal Decree .
