HANDBALL – AHMED Al Omran Secondary Boys School defeated Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Institute of Technology 46-38 in the final to win the Khalid Bin Hamad Secondary Schools Handball Championship for the 2024–25 academic year.
The final was held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa at Khalifa Sports City.
Shaikh Khalid presented the championship trophy to the winners. Al Hidaya Al Khalifia Secondary Boys School took the third place.
Shaikh Khalid said that the championship demonstrated the promising potential of students in handball, encouraging continued support for such initiatives that benefit Bahraini sport in the long term.
He noted that the competition showcased emerging talent and strong performances, indicating a solid foundation for developing future national teams.
Education Minister Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma highlighted that the edition saw the participation of 256 players representing 16 government schools.
He expressed pride in the ministry’s co-operation with the GSA and other sporting institutions in promoting school sports, and thanked the championship’s sponsors for their support.
