The Shura Council has unanimously approved urgent legislation authorising the government to secure a $200 million loan from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to finance the construction of the new 400kV Al Jasra electricity station.
The loan, which will be granted to the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), is part of a broader $465m financing plan for a major expansion of Bahrain’s national electricity transmission network .
