BEACH VOLLEYBALL – BAHRAIN’S beach volleyball national teams are set to compete in a pair of top tournaments in the coming two weeks in Doha, Qatar.
The Bahrain One tandem of Ali Marhoon and Hasan Abdulla and the Bahrain Two pairing of Saleh Abdulwahed and Jaafar Aljishi will both be playing in the AVC Beach Tour Doha Open from this Wednesday to May 3. They will also then compete in the West Asian Beach Volleyball Championship from May 5 to 11.
The kingdom’s representatives have been training for the past few weeks under the supervision of national team coach Mohammed Al Shaikh. They are scheduled to depart for the Qatari capital today, along with international referee Sayed Jaafar Hussain.
The upcoming AVC Beach Tour Doha Open will feature some top teams from across the continent, including three each from Australia, Japan, and Thailand; two apiece from Iran, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Uzbekistan, and a team each from New Zealand and hosts Qatar.
Valuable points for international rankings are to be gained in the tournament.
