Former Karnataka Police chief Om Prakash was found dead in his home in Bengaluru on Monday (April 21), reportedly after a violent altercation with his wife, Pallavi.
During the fight, Pallavi allegedly threw chilli powder at him, tied him up, and stabbed him multiple times, Indian news channel NDTV said in its report. After the murder, she confided in another police officer's wife about the incident, claiming she "killed the monster", which prompted a police intervention.
The couple reportedly quarrelled over property matters before the incident. Om Prakash's son, Kartikeya, filed a complaint stating that his mother and sister had threatened his father in the past due to their struggles with depression. He found his father dead upon returning home after being informed by a neighbour. Police are investigating the involvement of both Pallavi and their daughter, Kruthi, in the crime.
