Bahrain’s Lesman Paredes has missed out on a place on the podium in the men’s 102kg category in weightlifting at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The star lifter finished with a total of 392kg in the event to place sixth.
The former world champion had a best of 181kg in the snatch portion of the competition and then secured his classification with a best lift of 211kg in the clean and jerk.
Paredes has made history in Paris 2024 by becoming the first-ever lifter from Bahrain to compete at the Olympics.
Team Bahrain’s other weightlifting participant, Gor Minasyan, will be in action tonight in the men’s over-102kg category, starting at 9.30pm, Bahrain time.
