NO new garages or welding workshops are being licensed to open in Salmabad following years of complaints from residents that the district is already oversaturated with sites causing pollution, noise nuisances and foul stenches.
Northern Municipal Council financial, administrative and legislative committee chairman and area councillor Dr Salman Abdulla said authorities had placed a blanket ban on granting new permits .
