His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today attended the final day of the Crown Prince’s Cup Festival, sponsored by Cebarco, at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC), in Sakhir.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted the continuous progress of the Kingdom’s equestrian sector, driven by strategic plans, projects, and initiatives aimed at its development. His Royal Highness emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to implementing these initiatives in line with the far-reaching vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which seeks to enhance the sector’s competitiveness and sustainability.
His Royal Highness underscored the significance of the Kingdom’s hosting of local and international horse racing events, highlighting its national capabilities and the expertise of Team Bahrain. HRH noted that through their excellence and creativity, Team Bahrain continues to enhance the Kingdom’s regional and global standing in international sports arenas.
His Royal Highness emphasised that horse racing is a vital part of the Kingdom’s rich heritage, stressing the importance of its development and preservation for future generations while upholding the traditions of the nation’s forefathers.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad expressed his gratitude for the passion and dedication of Bahrainis in achieving podium success across regional and international equestrian sports arenas.
His Royal Highness emphasised the pivotal role of the REHC, under the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and Chairman of the REHC High Committee. HRH highlighted the club’s efforts in supporting the Kingdom’s equestrian sector through strategic plans, programmes, and development initiatives that align with Bahrain’s aspirations.
His Royal Highness extended his best wishes for the success of the REHC in advancing horse racing and further positioning Bahrain as a leading hub for equestrian sport.

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and Chairman of the REHC High Committee, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the Vice-President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) High Committee and Member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, were present at the festival.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad presented the Crown Prince's Cup for imported horses to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness also presented the Bahrain Derby Cup to His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister delegated His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to present the Crown Prince's Cup for locally produced horses to His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness delegated His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to present the Crown Prince's Cup for Arabian horses to the winning trainer Abdulla Kuwaiti.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa received the Howden Cup from Mr. David Howden, CEO and Founder of Howden, while Mr. Adnan Abdulwahab Ishaq, Member of REHC High Committee, presented the REHC Cup to Mr. Wafi Majeed.
Meanwhile, Shaikh Misha’al bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Member of REHC High Committee, presented the Bahrain Turf Club Cup to the winning owner Abdulla Fawzi Nass, and Mrs. Maha Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), presented the Bahrain Jockey Academy Cup to the winning jockey Tom Marquand.
The festival was also attended by His Excellency Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, His Excellency Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, as well as several senior officials and horse racing enthusiasts from around the world.
The two-day festival witnessed strong and exciting victories by all the winning horses.
The results of the eight-round race held today is as follows:
First round: HRH The Crown Prince Cup (Sponsored by Cebarco) for purebred Bahraini Arabian horses (WAHO), 1400 meters. The first winner was horse "Obeyan 1867" of Al Wasmiya Stud, led by jockey Ebrahim Nader, managed to achieve the victory after winning the competition with his rival "Kuheilan Al Adiyat 1894", thus continuing his victories and success in this season.
Second round: the REHC Cup for Handicap horses (Imported), 1000 meters, and the horse "What a Business", owned by Jawad A.Wahid Ahmed, managed to achieve a well-deserved win after a strong three-way competition in the final meters.
Third round: the Howden Company Cup for Handicap horses (Imported), 1600 meters, and a strong surprise by the horse "The Parent" of Al Aadiyat Racing, who went against expectations, outperformed others and snatched an exciting victory with a strong push in the last meters.
The fourth round: the Bahrain Turf Club Cup for Class 1 horses (Local Bred), 1600 meters, and the horse "Hercules", owned by Abdulla Fawzi Nass, was able to secure a big win after dominating the round.
Fifth round: the Bahrain Jockey Academy Cup for Handicap horses (Imported), 2400 meters, and the horse "Cracksking" was able to give Al Aadiyat Racing the second victory in this racing evening after a strong performance in the last meters.
Sixth round: the Bahrain Derby Cup for Class 1 horses (Local Bred), 2000 meters, and the horses of Al Aadiyat Racing continued their success by achieving the third consecutive victory by the horse "Lamie Jee", who was able to snatch a well-deserved win in the Bahrain Derby.
Seventh round: HRH The Crown Prince’s Cup (Sponsored by Cebarco) for Class 1 horses (Local Bred), 2000 meters, and the championess mare "Galatia", owned by HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, was able to continue her successive victories this season with a strong performance, in which she outperformed the best local bred horses and was crowned championess of HRH The Crown Prince's Cup for locally produced horses.
Eighth round: HRH The Crown Prince's Cup (Sponsored by Cebarco) for Class 1 horses (Imported), 2000 meters, the horse "Phantom Flight" of Victorious proved his worthiness of being favored among all as he showed his high capabilities in his strong last-meters push to snatch the lead from his rival "Sovereign Spirit" and become champion of HRH The Crown Prince's Cup for imported horses.
