TENNIS – EMA Chladova of the Czech Republic and Oscar Casas Mas of Spain were crowned champions of their respective singles categories yesterday in the J30 Isa Town International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament, which came to a close at the Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) courts in Isa Town.
Sixth-seeded Ema won the title in the girls’ singles after defeating fourth seed Milana Kolesova of Russia 6-3, 6-1; while Oscar captured the boys’ singles crown after his opponent Nikita Berdin, also of Russia, retired after the first set, which was won by Oscar 6-2.
Meanwhile, the Russian pairing of Katsiaryna Dubik and Daria Podlipskaya and the tandem of Petr Lifanov of Russia and Mustafa Ege Topbas of Turkiye emerged as the doubles winners.
Third seeds Katsiaryna and Daria took the girls’ doubles championship after beating fourth seeds Ema and Camilla Mizzi of Italy 6-2, 6-3, denying Ema a possible title double in the kingdom.
On the distaff, Petr and Mustafa lived up to their tag as boys’ doubles top seeds after clinching their title with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over fourth seeds Sacha Fontanges of France and Ahmed Ibrahim of Egypt.
Following the four finals matches, the winners and runners-up were presented trophies and medals by BTF president Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, in the presence of BTF secretary general Fuad Al Rowaie and other officials.
The J30 Isa Town competition was part of the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors 2025 calendar.
The tournament will be followed by another J30 ITF competition, scheduled to get underway tomorrow and continue until Saturday.
