A South Carolina man revealed that he needs five surgeries to remove the excess skin from his body after he transformed himself and went from weighing at least 265kg to 102kg in just two years.
39-year-old Cole Prochaska revealed his incredible weight loss journey on his GoFundMe campaign. He says that when he hit the maximum amount on his weighing scale in 2021, he knew it was time to make a change.
Prochaska went from consuming 5,000 calories in a day in the form of chips, cheeseburgers, whole pizzas and 12-pack soft drinks to now trekking 10,000 steps every day.
Prochaska states that at his heaviest he was afraid to even go out to dinner with friends, or take a trip to the beach.
“I would always put on a happy exterior because that’s what a lot of big people do. But I was a pretty lonely person. You don’t want to go to anything because you don’t want to have to worry about fitting in the chairs and worry about having to walk very far, what you’re going to wear,” he explained.
Prochaska also states that his lack of motivation was also what caused his 7-year relationship to end. The break-up in turn motivated him to lose all his weight.
The next obstacle standing in Cole's way however will need much more than just sheer willpower. It will need surgical intervention. Cole now says that he is planning on getting around five surgeries to remove the excess skin he now has due to the dramatic weight loss.
Cole says that despite being thinner, he is still very self-conscious due to the excess skin folds. After consulting with a plastic surgeon, Cole learnt that it would take around five cosmetic surgeries to remove all of the excess skin on his upper body.
While the surgeon didn't provide an exact price tag for the surgeries, Cole already started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for it. So far he has raised a little over $38,000 of his $60,000 goal.
