Nine vocational colleges in China are giving their students one week off in April to go 'fall in love' to combat the falling marriage and childbirth rates in China, say reports.
The Fan Mei Education group sent a notice in March stating that students at nine of its vocational colleges will get one week off to find love and immerse themselves in the emotion.
A statement from the deputy dean of one of the colleges said, "The school implements the spring break system in the hope that students can learn to love nature, love life, and enjoy love. Walk out of campus, get in touch with nature, and with your heart feel the beauty of spring."
Students will get the first week of April as spring break to go fall in love.
Although the concept of spring break is fairly common in western colleges and countries, this will be the first time a directive of love has been given along with it.
The new move comes after decades of declining rates of marriage and childbirth were reported in China.
Many provinces and companies have already started drawing up plans to encourage people to get married.
