How often do you see someone distract a pro golfer as he is about to go for a birdie putt at the hole?
A viral video of ace golfer Roy McIlroy shows him left scratching his head during a tournament when he encountered a ball that seemed to be moving by itself.
A fan had tossed the remote-controlled golf ball on the green and began operating it from a distance just as the Northern Irishman was getting ready to putt at the fifteenth hole.
As the ball moved around his feet, McIlroy blocked the ball with his putter after the fan failed to put the ball inside the hole. McIlroy then threw the ball into a nearby lake next to the course.
However, McIlroy ended up missing his birdie putt at the hole.
The incident happened during the third round of the BMW Championship at the Wilmington Country Club in Wilmington, US.
The ‘fan’ was identified as internet comedian Niko Omilana, who was immediately escorted off the course by security.
