BAHRAIN’S Happy Team is taking part in a half marathon being held in Kuwait on Saturday.
Captain Abdul Karim Turki will be leading a team of 15 members for the race.
Happy Team was set up in August 2014 by Capt Karim along with Bahrain national triathlon team coach Mubarak Al Mubarak and athlete Mahmoud Al Ansari.
Capt Karim has an illustrious history of taking part in sport since his early childhood.
He played football and volleyball, besides taking part in running, swimming and cycling.
He actively participated in marathons, half marathons and other races locally and internationally.
In addition to the Half Ironman races (swimming 1.9km, cycling 90km and then running 21.1km), he has finished marathons in Bahrain (six times), London, Berlin, New York, Boston, Rome, Paris, Rotterdam, Dubai and many half marathons over different distances.
