The speed and magnitude of a change in the skyline is representative of how rapidly a country has changed over the years.
These changes in the skyline were not possible without the vision of the rulers in these countries though.
One of the most prominent changes to a city has got to be Dubai, which over the course of 20 years transformed itself from a desert to becoming the most heavily populated city in the United Arab Emirates.
Not much behind is Qatar, which is fast transforming itself to host 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Mecca in Saudi Arabia is also a city in the Middle Eastern countries which has changed in size and magnitude, courtesy rising numbers of Hajj pilgrimage every year.
