BAHRAIN Paralympic Committee (BPC) secretary general Ali Al Majed has confirmed the kingdom’s readiness to host the Para Badminton International from May 13 to 18 in association with the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation.
He commended the federation’s support and efforts by its president Dr Sawsan Haji Mohammed Taqawi to promote para sports.
Al Majed noted that the event aligns with the vision of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee and the directives of His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
He also highlighted the support of SCYS first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa as well as the efforts of BPC president Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa.
Al Majed said that hosting the championship enhances Bahrain’s international sporting profile, and will increase awareness and inclusion.
