Jeddah - Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, following Al-Ahli Club’s victory in the 2025 AFC Champions League Elite title.
The Saudi club secured its first-ever title in the prestigious tournament with a 2–0 win over Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale in the final played today at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.
In a press statement, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki stated that the victory of the Kingdom’s national representative, Al-Ahli, and its acquisition of the continental championship confirms the remarkable progress of Saudi football. He attributed this success to the unwavering support of the Kingdom’s leadership and the generous, unprecedented backing of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for the entire sports sector.
This support, the minister added, has led to significant achievements, enabling Saudi clubs to excel at the continental level.
