Cairo: The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in the Arab Republic of Egypt announced full control of a fire that broke out in a 7-bar natural gas pipeline at the entrance of 6th of October City on the Wahat Road – west of SUMED, confirming that natural gas service to customers is currently operating normally.
According to the Middle East News Agency (MENA), the ministry explained that emergency teams moved immediately after the incident and, in cooperation with civil defence forces, managed to isolate the network in the affected area and fully contain the fire, while repair works are underway at the site.
Initial investigations revealed that the incident occurred due to excavation work carried out by a contracting company without prior coordination with NatGas, which led to human and material losses, including injuries, fatalities, and damage to property.
