Amman: Ayman Al Safadi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, met with Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, to discuss strengthening cooperation and advancing joint efforts under the partnership with the European Union.
According to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the discussions focused on implementing cooperation agreements in the areas of education, environment, and youth. Al Safadi noted Hungary’s allocation of 400 scholarships annually for Jordanian students, describing it as a key pillar in developing educational ties.
The meeting also addressed regional developments, including support for stability in Syria and Lebanon, and emphasised the importance of cooperation in responding to the refugee crisis, which continues to place a significant burden on Jordan.
The ministers discussed the Palestinian issue, with Al Safadi calling for an end to the aggression on Gaza and the facilitation of humanitarian aid. He emphasised Jordan’s position in support of a two-state solution.
Szijjártó underscored Jordan’s role in limiting irregular migration and commended the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan to promote stability in the region.
