Istanbul experienced a series of aftershocks today following a powerful 6.2-magnitude earthquake that struck the Marmara Sea the day before.
Türkiye's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported that more than 185 aftershocks have occurred since the initial quake, including one measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale.
The main earthquake, which struck off the coast of Istanbul in the Marmara Sea, caused widespread alarm and minor damage. The aftershocks ranged in magnitude from 4.0 to 5.0, further shaking the densely populated city.
