Honkon, a Japanese music producer, spent 10 years saving up to buy his dream car, a Ferrari 458 Spider, only to see it burn down on his first drive.
The 33-year-old posted about the distressing incident on his social media account, with the caption: “My Ferrari burned to ashes an hour after delivery.”
He added: “I bet I’m the only one in all of Japan to experience this kind of trouble.”
Honkon was driving on the Shuto Expressway when he started to smell smoke. At first, he thought it was coming from the car next to him. However, he soon noticed the fire and stopped the car, quickly stepping out of it, and saw his dream go up in flames.
There was no report of a crash prior to the fire breaking out, and the Metropolitan Police Department is still investigating to determine the cause of the blaze.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, and the blaze was extinguished in 20 minutes. However, most of the car was damaged, leaving only the very edge of the front bumper unharmed.
The Ferrari 458 Spider model was in production from 2011 to 2015.
