VOLLEYBALL – Dar Kulaib secured the bronze medals last night in the 2024-25 Isa bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League.
Dar Kulaib came away with third place overall following a hard-earned 3-2 (25-20, 25-21, 21-25, 22-25, 17-15) victory over Al Najma in their one-off classification contest at Isa bin Rashid Arena, located at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
Dar Kulaib were the back-to-back defending champions heading into this season, but they lost to Muharraq in two games in their best-of-three Golden Square semi-final series.
They were made to settle for last night’s bronze medal game and are now coming away with an accolade from this campaign.
Meanwhile, Muharraq and Al Ahli begin their best-of-three fight for the title tonight at the same venue. The game is scheduled for a 7pm start.
Ahli secured their place in the championship series after finishing the league’s Top Six phase with an undefeated record in 10 games, and then following it up with a win over Najma in their semis head-to-head. Ahli had a twice-to-beat advantage in the match-up.
Muharraq, meanwhile, ended Dar Kulaib’s title-defence.
Following tonight’s finals opener, game two is scheduled for Saturday. Game three, if needed, will then be played on Monday next week.
