MOTORSPORT – Bahraini-British racing team 2 Seas Motorsport begin their campaign supporting Verstappen.com Racing this weekend in the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
Verstappen.com Racing is the official racing programme of four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen.
2 Seas, co-owned by Bahrain’s Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, are backing Verstappen.com Racing in their debut entry in the highly competitive championship. Its season gets underway with round one at Paul Ricard Circuit in France from Friday to Sunday.
The Dutch team will compete with the trio of Thierry Vermeulen, Chris Lulham, and Harry King, who was a standout in past seasons of the Bahrain-based Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East. They will be behind the wheel of their Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo contender, being run by 2 Seas Motorsport.
The curtain-raising event will feature a massive 59-car field that will be battling over a six-hour endurance race.
This is set to be the series’ biggest grid for an opening weekend since 2015, according to championship organisers. The teams will be competing in Pro, Gold Cup, Silver Cup, and Bronze Cup classes. Verstappen.com Racing and 2 Seas are in the Gold Cup.
Action gets underway on Friday with free practice and pre-qualifying. Saturday will then feature qualifying in the morning and then the weekend’s main event, the six-hour race, which is scheduled to flag off at 7pm, Bahrain time.
The chequered flag will be waved in the early hours of Sunday morning, Bahrain time, at the end of the gruelling test of speed, perseverance, and teamwork.
2 Seas are making their second straight campaign in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. Their maiden participation last year added to their stint in the British GT Championship, expanding their racing schedule for 2024.
2 Seas’ GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup campaign last year featured a driver line-up that included Bahrain’s Shaikh Isa, Lewis Williamson of Scotland, and Martin Kodric of Croatia.
The series’ 2025 calendar features five rounds across Europe. Following this weekend’s events, round two will then take place in Monza, Italy, from May 30 to June 1. It will be followed by the marquee Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa in Belgium from June 25 to 29.
The penultimate endurance meeting will then take place August 29 to 31 at the Nurburgring in Germany, setting the stage for the championship finale will be from October 10 to 12 in Barcelona, Spain.
