HORSERACING – We’ll Defend, owned by Bahrain’s Victorious Racing and Fawzi Nass, claimed a fine victory yesterday in the Prix de la Serpentine horserace, held at Chantilly Racecourse in France.
The three-year-old winner, trained by Carlos and Yann Lerner and ridden by jockey Christophe Soumillon, took the nine-furlong race to pocket over GBP11,000 in prize money.
We’ll Defend comfortably triumphed by four lengths ahead of runner-up Integretas, owned by Gestut Schlenderhan. Jeans and Swells finished third for owner Haras De Saint Julien, Victory Gatsby was fourth competing for Mme Marie Cerulis, and Sevara came fifth for Nurlan Bizakov as the last entry to come away with winnings.
Victorious Racing is owned by His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
